LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Power was restored this morning to nearly 12,000 DWP customers in West Los Angeles who were knocked offline for hours because of a Mylar balloon.
The outages in the Sawtelle and Westwood neighborhoods were reported at 6:17 p.m. Friday, according to Palla Adler of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power.
Three power vaults were affected and there were indications a Mylar balloon was the reason for the outage, Adler said.
Crews restored power to the majority of customers by 10:45 p.m. Friday and all customers were back online by 2 a.m. today.
“If your power is still out, please check/reset your circuit breaker,” the LADWP tweeted at 5:30 a.m.
