Southland Temperatures Remain High

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Southland temperatures will remain high today.

The National Weather Service forecast mostly partly cloudy skies today and highs of 73 in Avalon; 76 at LAX; 81 in Long Beach; 83 in Downtown L.A.; 86 in San Gabriel; 87 on Mount Wilson; 88 in Pasadena and Burbank; 92 in Saugus; 94 in Woodland Hills; 97 in Lancaster; and 98 in Palmdale. Temperatures will climb progressively over the coming days and reach three-digit territory in some communities Saturday, then inch down Tuesday.

Sunny skies were forecast in Orange County, along with highs of 72 in San Clemente and Laguna Beach; 73 in Newport Beach; 77 on Santiago Peak; 81 on Ortega Highway at 2,600 feet; 82 in Fullerton; 83 in Mission Viejo; 83 in Irvine and Mission Viejo; 84 in Yorba Linda, Fremont Canyon and Anaheim; and 85 in Trabuco Canyon. Temperatures will rise slightly Thursday and reach the low 90s in some Orange County communities Friday, then climb some more Saturday.
