Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops for 14th Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 14th consecutive day and 21st time in 22 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.701.

The average price has dropped 10.8 cents over the past 22 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.3 cents less than one week ago and 2.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 6.5 cents more than one year ago.

A run of 20 decreases in 22 days to the Orange County average price ended Friday when it was unchanged, remaining at $3.675. It dropped 8.4 cents over the past 22 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 2.8 cents less than one week ago and three-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago, but 9.5 cents higher than one year ago.

``Gas prices are still about 45 cents higher than they were at their lowest point of 2019 in January, but they are heading downward slowly because oil prices are lower than a month ago and local refineries have plenty of fuel inventory,'' said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
