President Trump Not Happy With "Send Her Back" Chants At His NC Rally

Yesterday at President Trump's rally in North Carolina, supporters in the audience started a booming "send her back" chant directed at Democratic Rep. Illhan Omar.

During his rally, Trump tore into Omar adding on to his week long verbal attacks against her and three other minority congresswomen. The president accused Omar of demeaning U.S service members and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. “She looks down with contempt on the hard-working Americans saying that ignorance is pervasive in many parts of this country,” Trump said. As a result, the crowd heavily booed and broke out into the infamous "send her back" chant.

When President Trump was asked about the incident today by reporters, he said he did his best to stop it.

“I was not happy with it — I disagree with it,” the president told reporters at the White House.

When asked why did not verbally stop the chant, the president replied, “I think I did — I started speaking very quickly.”

Multiple politicians have taken to Twitter to show their support to Illhan Omar or President Trump regarding the incident.

Below are tweets from U.S Representative Illhan Omar and President Trump after the rally.
