Nine-Year-Old Sketch Artist Helps Cops Crack Theft Case

Utah police are crediting the drawing made by a nine-year-old girl with helping them catch a porch pirate.

While investigating a series of recent package thefts, Springville police officers met a young girl who was nearby when one of the items was stolen.

When they asked if she'd seen the suspect's vehicle, the girl whipped out her markers and drew a picture of a red pickup truck.

Although the sketch was rough, the girl was able to include several identifying marks on the vehicle including the rack in the back of the truck.

Matching the girl's picture to a pickup caught on surveillance video, police were able to track down the suspect and make an arrest.
