KFI AM 640 cares about our nation’s Veterans, and about clean, renewable energy! That’s why KFI is proud to support local and Veteran-owned Semper Solaris, a solar & roofing company, with their Semper Cares Initiative, to help deserving Veterans get relief from high energy prices!
If you follow KFI and Jennifer Jones Lee, you know she’s been asking her listeners for the past few weeks to nominate a local veteran to receive a fully installed, FREE Panasonic HIT Solar System from Semper Solaris as a Thank You for their service!
Semper Cares has chosen their Southern California recipient for 2019 to receive a home solar system: Congratulations to Sergeant Mike Gallardo!
Michael Gallardo, born and raised in Los Angeles, gave up a career in baseball to join the military. He felt it was a calling from the signs all around. The signs were 9/11, which is now known as the day of service and remembrance, but is also Sergeant Gallardo’s birthday. Serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Sergeant Gallardo was severely injured when the Humvee in which he was riding, in a split second decision, intentionally ran over an IED to protect other soldiers on the ground. The ensuing explosion and vehicle damage led to serious injury to Sergeant Gallardo’s left leg. After months of attempts to save his lower left leg without success, Sergeant Gallardo was rendered a below-the-knee amputee but that has not prevented him from moving forward in life. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
We salute Sergeant Michael Gallardo for his bravery, selflessness, and dedication in his service to our country!
