Southland Gas Prices Dropping

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the fifth consecutive day following a seven-day streak of increases, decreasing 1 cent to $3.786.

The average price has decreased 2.3 cents over the past five days, including six-tenths of a cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 7.5 cents less than one month ago, but 11.8 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the sixth consecutive day following a nine-day streak of increases, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.737.

It has dropped 2.2 cents over the past six days, including four-tenths of a cent on Monday, after rising 8.7 cents during the nine-day streak of increases.

The Orange County average price is 1 cent less than one week ago, 9 cents less than one month ago, but 12.7 cents more than one year ago.
