LAKE VIEW TERRACE (CNS) - A truck with a mechanical problem caught fire today, and the flames spread to a small area of grass off the Foothill (210) Freeway in Lake View Terrace.
The truck fire on the westbound 210 Freeway was reported about 9:10 a.m.
“Firefighters were sent to the scene and they put out the truck and grass fire pretty quickly,” Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said. “The truck driver had already disconnect the trailer from the truck before the fire started, so that made the job of the firefighters much easier.”
No injuries were reported.
The fire and firefighting equipment left the number 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 lanes temporarily blocked, prompting the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert at 9:25 a.m. The lanes were cleared and the SigAlert was canceled at 11:45 a.m., the CHP reported.
