Officials are looking into what sparked a fire around 2 p.m. on Monday in South Bakersfield, and quickly spread to a nearby CarMax parking lot.
According to fire officials, about 85 vehicles were destroyed at the car dealership on Colony Street. Videos posted on social media show the dangerous smoke and fire jumping from car to car:
According to 23ABC, some witness say they saw the fire start with a semi-truck traveling on the highway, but CHP officers have no reports of big rig fires in the area.
