Box of Abandoned Puppies Rescued by Santa Clarita Sheriff's Deputies

Seven dogs were found in a cardboard box in a wooded area in Valencia and were rescued by sheriff's deputies.

Officials say a witness alerted the department about the dogs after hearing them whimpering near a homeless encampment off the road.

The seven German Shepherd-mix dogs are estimated to be around two months old and are now up for adoption at the Los Angeles County Animal Care Center in Castaic after being given a clear bill of health.
