LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 43rd consecutive day, falling 1 cent to $3.769, its lowest amount since April 4.
The average price has decreased 35.1 cents during the streak, including nine-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.2 cents less than one week ago and 26.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 6.3 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price today dropped for the 23rd consecutive day and 42nd time in the past 43 days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.721, its lowest amount since April 4. It has decreased 37.5 cents over the past 43 days, including 1.3 cents on Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 8.2 cents less than one week ago and 28.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 5.4 cents more than one year ago.
The average prices continue to decrease because of a significant drop in crude oil prices “in recent weeks in response to worries about lower worldwide demand due to tariffs” and a replenished gasoline supply, Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
