Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops For 42nd Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 42nd consecutive day, falling nine-tenths of a cent to $3.779, its lowest amount since April 4.

The average price has decreased 34.1 cents during the streak, including eight-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.2 cents less than one week ago and 25.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 6.7 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 22nd consecutive day and 41st time in the past 42 days, decreasing 1.3 cents to $3.73, its lowest amount since April 4. It has decreased 36.6 cents over the past 42 days, including one-tenth of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 8 cents less than one week ago and 27.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 5.5 cents more than one year ago.
