L.A. County Average Gas Price Drops For 36th Consecutive Day

U.S. Gas Prices Soar To Record National Average

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 36th consecutive day, decreasing 1 cent to $3.841, its lowest amount since April 6.

The average price has decreased 27.9 cents during the streak, including eight-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.6 cents less than one week ago and 23.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 9.8 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 35th time in the past 36 days, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.803, its lowest amount since April 6. It has decreased 29.3 cents over the past 36 days, including 1.4 cents on Tuesday. The Orange County average price is 7.4 cents less than one week ago and 24.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 10.4 cents more than one year ago.
