WILLOWBROOK (CNS) - Detectives investigated today the circumstances of a deadly deputy-involved shooting in the unincorporated Willowbrook area near Compton.
Deputies attempted to talk with two men inside a vehicle parked in the parking lot of an apartment complex near 132nd and San Pedro streets around 7:30 p.m. Thursday when a deputy-involved shooting occurred, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
One suspect was struck multiple times in the upper body and pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect was not hurt and was taken into custody, the sheriff's department said.
No deputies were injured.
The age and name of the suspect were not released.
