LOS ANGELES (CNS) - At least 35 people were detained this morning following a raid at a building in Koreatown that required a SWAT team to use tear gas to clear the building.
Officers responded at 4:30 p.m. Friday to the building in the 200 block of North Vermont Avenue near Beverly Boulevard, according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.
A SWAT team was called to the scene and tossed smoke grenades into the building when most of the people inside refused officers' commands to exit, ABC7 reported.
Inside the building officers found gambling machines, narcotics and money. At least 35 people were detained, pending arrest, the LAPD said.
