MALIBU (CNS) - Searchers looking for a 30-year-old Colorado woman who was reported missing a week ago found her remains today near the shoreline in the Malibu area.
Sheriff's divers located the remains of Jennifer Lorber about 9 this morning near the Paradise Cove shoreline, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The body was recovered and taken to Marina del Rey, where coroner's office personnel took possession of the remains, which were positively identified by one of Lorber's relative, according to the sheriff's department.
Lorber flew to Los Angeles last Thursday and was last seen about 11 p.m. that night at a motel in the 22000 block of Pacific Coast Highway. Her rental vehicle, a white 2018 Toyota Rav4, was found about 11:15 p.m. Saturday parked on PCH at Paradise Cove Road.
Lorber was said to suffer from depression, and her family had told deputies they were concerned for her health, according to the sheriff's department, which spearheaded multiple search operations using a search-and- rescue team, dogs, an air unit, marine rescue boat operators and divers. County lifeguards and fire department personnel also assisted in the search.
