Commerce City Council Fight Breaks Out During Conference

A fight between Commerce civic leaders broke out at a conference last weekend, and it even sent someone to the hospital.

According to deputies, the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. at The Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa in the Coachella Valley. The fight involved multiple people, but Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez reported that no arrests were made, and the one person sent to the hospital had non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say it's still unclear what led to the physical altercation during the conference for the California Contract Cities Association, and the names of those involved has not yet been officially released.

Commerce Mayor John Soria told NBC Los Angeles that he is planning on filing a police report and pressing charges.

According to The Press-Enterprise, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
