Video: Arizona Hospital Employee Drops Newborn in Delivery Room

Horrifying video of a hospital employee dropping a newborn is making the rounds and the parents are speaking out.

Derrick and Monique Rodgers' twin girls, Morgan and Madison, were born premature at Chandler Regional Medical Center in Arizona.

While a hospital employee was cleaning up Morgan, the three pound child fell from his hands and onto the table, but thankfully not on the ground.

All of this just seconds after she was born and later in an interview with KNXV-TV Derrick said when he went to confront the doctor who dropped his baby, the man seemed unconcerned.

"I told him, 'You dropped my baby,'" said Derrick, recalling the encounter. "He had like a nonchalant look on his face. Then I showed him the video, and he had nothing to say after that."

An ultrasound later showed Morgan has suffered a "grade one germinal matrix small bleed" which as a NICU nurse explained is somewhat common in premature babies and will likely not lead to any lasting effects.

Still, the parents are rightfully pissed off and say that Morgan is experiencing some issues with shaking.

In response to the incident, Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center sent KNXV-TV a statement:

Because of patient privacy laws and a request from the family not to release information, we are unable to comment specifically on this matter. The safety of our patients and their families is always our top concern. The medical team at Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center takes this matter extremely seriously and is working to conduct a comprehensive review.
