LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped three-tenths of a cent today to $4.122 after being unchanged the previous two days.

The average price is 3.4 cents more than one week ago, 39.5 cents higher than one month ago and 44.8 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $4.10 one day after dropping three-tenths of a cent. It is 3.7 cents more than one week ago, 42.1 cents higher than one month ago and 46.8 cents greater than one year ago.

“Overall refinery production has increased, but a lag in gasoline imports and continuing issues with some refineries in the state has increased prices,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
