LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 2.9 cents today to $4.117, its highest amount since July 30, 2015, one day after increasing two-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 3.9 cents more than one week ago, 50.2 cents higher than one month ago and 45.9 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price rose 2.8 cents to $4.091 -- also its highest amount since July 30, 2015 -- one day after remaining unchanged. It is 4 cents more than one week ago, 52 cents higher than one month ago and 47.1 cents greater than one year ago.
The higher prices are the result of a series of refinery issues that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
