LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A reckless-driving and possible DUI suspect led authorities on a chase from the Paramount area to Westchester today, where police used a PIT maneuver to bring his disabled vehicle to a stop.
The approximately one-hour chase ended about 12:15 p.m. on Lincoln Boulevard south of Jefferson Boulevard, where a California Highway Patrol officer in an SUV used a PIT maneuver to spin the Ford Focus and bring the hatchback to a stop.
The car's front driver's side tire had early come off of the vehicle, leaving the suspect driving on three tires and a metal rim.
The driver quickly got out of the car and surrendered. His name was not immediately released.
The chase began in the Paramount area, according to the sheriff's department.
Along the way, the suspect led authorities onto the westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway and then onto surface streets.
