So...this is an interesting one.
Meet Leor Bergland. He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, attempted murder, and concealing a...dirk or dagger?
NBC News reports that Bergland was outside the Church of 8 Wheels roller rink in San Francisco, wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat and dressed as a pirate. NBC does not report why exactly he was dressed as a pirate.
Two men confronted Bergland. One of them swatted the hat off of him and the two men then chased Bergland.
The chase ended when Bergland stopped and took a sword out. He slashed one of the men's hands, who later had to go to the hospital.
The victim had no life threatening injuries and was released from the hospital soon after.
Meanwhile, Bergland was arrested on the charges listed above.
Scott Sweeney was in the area where the attack took place and said that Bergland was shouting homophobic slurs at him.
Sweeney stated, "In my mind, I didn't think it was a real sword until we came out later and police were on the scene and there was blood and the hat on ground".
So, the pirate costume is one thing, right? But where did the sword and dagger come from? I tried looking, and I couldn't find anyone who knew where this stuff came from. That seems like a good story too.
