LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today to its highest amount since Aug. 5, 2015, increasing 3.5 cents to $3.946, one day after rising 2.3 cents.
The average price has risen 31 consecutive days, increasing 58.7 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 21.9 cents more than one week ago, 58.7 cents higher than one month ago and 36.7 cents greater than one year ago.
The Orange County average price also rose to its highest amount since Aug. 5, 2015, increasing 4.2 cents to $3.917. It has risen 23 consecutive days, increasing 59.5 cents, including 2.4 cents on Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 23.8 cents more than one week ago, 60.3 cents higher than one month ago and 37.1 cents greater than one year ago.
The recent sharp increases are the result of a series of refinery issues that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
