Family Dog Alerts Residents to House Fire; No One Hurt

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CNS) - A family dog alerted a Hacienda Heights family to a fire in their house early today, and no one was hurt.

Firefighters sent to Farmstead Avenue and Three Palms Street at 12:12 a.m. extinguished the flames in the single-story residence in 22 minutes, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

Three family members were alerted to the flames by their dog Chewie, and everyone got out safely.

“He deserves a good night's rest,” resident Ruben Hernandez told NBC4 while holding his dog in his arms.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
