Southland Gas Prices Rise to Highest Amounts Since Late November

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today to its highest amount since Nov. 25, increasing 2.4 cents to $3.639.

The average price has risen 18 consecutive days, increasing 28 cents, including 4.1 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 20.1 cents more than one week ago, 28.5 cents higher than one month ago and 7.8 cents greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since Nov. 24, increasing 2 cents to $3.591. It has risen 10 consecutive days, increasing 26.9 cents, including 4.1 cents on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 20.2 cents more than one week ago, 28.3 cents higher than one month ago and 7 cents more than one year ago.

The rising prices are the result of a reduction in supply caused by a partial shutdown of the Phillips 66 Carson refinery, planned maintenance at the Torrance Refinery and issues at at least two Northern California refineries, Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
