Customs and Border Protection To Conduct Readiness Drill at LAX

Controversial $9 Billion Security Plan Unveiled for LAX

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel will conduct a large-scale, two-day active shooter drill at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday and Wednesday, officials announced today.

“The drill will be contained within CBP's Federal Inspection Site at Terminal 4 from 3 p.m. and continuing until 11 p.m. on both evenings,” according to CBP spokesman Jaime Ruiz, who said “domestic arrivals and departures at (the) terminal will not be impacted by this drill.”

It's unclear if international arrivals and departures will be affected.

“The drill will include all relevant airport agencies who would have a response role concerning an active threat within the confines of ... (LAX),” Ruiz said.
