A second strain of the flu is going around and it's far more aggressive than previous strains, health experts say.
According to Dr. Suman Radhakrishna, with Dignity Health California Hospital, the conditions for the flu are perfect thanks to the recent wet and cold weather.
"It tends to spread more and make people sicker, faster," said Dr. Suman Radhakrishna.
Anyone who had already received a flu shot this year is protected from the new strain. If you skipped getting the flu shot earlier in the year, it's worth getting because the season is likely to last through May.
"But do remember it'll take about two weeks before the vaccine actually starts working," Dr. Radhakrishna added.
