Average Southland Gas Prices Rise to Highest Amount Since Jan. 3

U.S. Gas Prices Soar To Record National Average

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today to its highest amount since Jan. 3, increasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.382.

The average price has increased 13 of the past 14 days, rising 3.2 cents, including one-tenth of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 1.7 cents more than one week ago and 4 cents higher than one month ago but 11.5 cents less than one year ago.

The Orange County average price also rose to its highest amount since Jan. 3, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.33, one day after remaining unchanged. It is 1.6 cents more than one week ago and 1.9 cents higher than one month ago but 12.7 cents less than one year ago.
