Loughlin's 'Full House' Character Also Dealt with School Admissions Lies

Actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman are among the dozens of others accused of allegedly participating in an elaborate scheme to get their children admitted into highly prestigious and selective colleges.

Loughlin and her fashion designer husband are charged with spending $500,000 to buy their two daughters' admission to the University of Southern California under the pretense they were rowers and were recruited by the rowing team although neither daughter rows.

However, Loughlin is not new to the school bribery scene as her character in "Full House" struggled with a decision to lie to get her children into a prestigious school that would give the kids an advantage in the future, Yahoo News reports.

The Jan. 26, 1993 episode, called “Be True to Your Pre-School,” featured Loughlin’s character, Becky Donaldson Katsopolis, opposing the decision to lie and bribe her kids way into a school.

In the episode, the trouble starts when Loughlin’s TV husband, Jesse Katsopolis (played by John Stamos), decides to amp up their twin sons’ application for preschool, with claims that the boys speak two languages and play the bassoon.

Loughlin’s character was unaware of her husband's decision and when called in for an interview with the school, she discovers the lies told on the application and decides to tell the school the truth.

“We have to be honest, well, I have to be honest,” Loughlin says. “He may have embellished, lied a bit on our application.”

Stamos' character admits to Loughlin's character that he just wants his boys to be happy and Loughlin says they look happy to her.

“I know you want what’s best for them, but you know what?” she says. “Maybe the fast track isn’t it. Nicky and Alex are normal, healthy kids and whatever track they’re on, they seem to be doing OK.”

It seems as though Loughlin did not learn anything from the 90's sitcom episode.
