Road Projects This Weekend Near LAX; Motorists Should Allow Extra Time

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Contractors will close portions of Aviation Boulevard an Arbor Vitae Street near Los Angeles International Airport for road projects beginning tonight and continuing through Monday morning, prompting airport officials to advise motorists to allow extra time when driving in the area.

All lanes on Aviation Boulevard between Century Boulevard and Arbor Vitae Street will be closed for utility work from 9 tonight through 5 a.m. Monday.

From 7 tonight through 6 a.m. Monday, Arbor Vitae Street is scheduled to be closed between Aviation Boulevard and Bellanca Avenue for paving, though that project is weather-dependent.

Westbound motorists on Arbor Vitae Street should turn north onto Aviation Boulevard, then west on Manchester Avenue and south on Airport Boulevard to rejoin Westchester Parkway.

Eastbound motorists on Westchester Parkway should turn north onto Airport Boulevard, then east on Manchester Avenue and south on Aviation Boulevard to rejoin Arbor Vitae Street.

Motorists can use Airport Boulevard or La Cienega Boulevard as an alternate to Aviation Boulevard.

Detour signs will be posted.
