LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities today arrested a woman who led them on a slow-speed freeway and street chase to the downtown Los Angeles area in a van that had been reported stolen.
The roughly half-hour chase, which began in the San Fernando Valley, ended about 9:45 a.m., when a patrol car forced the van to spin out on Sunset Boulevard near the Harbor (110) Freeway in the Echo Park area. The vehicle struck a car and a parked vehicle before coming to a stop, and the unidentified woman then got out of the van and surrendered without further incident.
At times during the pursuit, the motorist got stuck in traffic, but stopped for traffic signals and then continued through intersections.
