LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was unchanged today, remaining at $3.355, one day after remaining unchanged.
The average price has not changed by more than one-tenth of a cent for three consecutive days and is four-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 8.4 cents higher than one month ago but 6.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped 3.6 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price was unchanged, remaining at $3.308, one day after dropping three-tenths of a cent. It is a half-cent less than one week ago and 7.7 cents lower than one year ago but 5.7 cents more than one month ago.
The average price has dropped 4.1 cents since the start of the year.
“The California Energy Commission reported Wednesday that Southern California gasoline supplies are now well below average levels for the past five years, but so far that news has not dramatically affected wholesale prices,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
“Oil Price Information Service analysts say the low supply level is likely due to both planned and unplanned maintenance at local refineries.”
