Thief Fires One Shot Into Computer Screen While Robbing Midway Sex Shop

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police today were searching for a gunman suspected of firing one shot into a computer screen while robbing a sex shop in the Midway District.

It happened around 7:40 p.m. Thursday at the Adult Depot near Pacific Highway and Bandini Street, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said.

The thief walked into the store, pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register, Buttle said. The clerk opened the register then stepped back and the suspect walked around the counter before taking cash from the drawer.

``As he left, he fired one round into the computer screen,'' Buttle said.

The man was last seen leaving northbound on Pacific Highway in a silver Honda, he said.

The suspect was described as Hispanic man in his 30s between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, jeans and gloves.

Robbery detectives were investigating the heist.
