Baby on Board! JetBlue Passenger Gives Birth Mid-Flight

Move over Gary & Shannon's terror in the skies because we got a miracle in the sky!

A JetBlue flight that landed in South Florida this weekend had one more passenger aboard than it had taken off with.

In the two hours 40 minutes it took to fly from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, a passenger on board gave birth to a baby boy.

The expectant mother went into labor shortly after takeoff, and when it became clear that the baby had no intention of waiting until the flight reached its destination, crew members asked other passengers to lend a hand.

JetBlue representative Tamara Young says both mother and child are doing well.

"We'd like to thank the crew and medical professionals on board for their quick action under pressure, and wish the new mother and son all the best."
