Disneyland's Space Mountain Closed After Guest Climbed Off Roller Coaster

ANAHEIM (CNS) - Disneyland's Space Mountain ride remains closed today while state officials investigate how a guest at the theme park got off the roller coaster while it was in motion.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon, said Luke Brown, a spokesman for Cal/OSHA, the state agency that is investigating the circumstances.

``Disney is fully cooperating with Cal/OSHA and we're working with Disney to determine what changes are needed going forward,'' Brown said.

Disney officials say they hope to ``get the attraction up and running shortly.''

An unidentified man in his 20s ``forced'' his way off the ride despite a lap-bar restraint. He escaped injury but was taken to an area hospital as a precaution, officials said.
