INGLEWOOD (CNS) - The Los Angeles Rams have arrived in Atlanta to begin a series of media events and practices leading up to Super Bowl LIII next Sunday against the New England Patriots.
After leaving the plane, the Rams were greeted by Hall of Fame defensive end Jack Youngblood, who played for the Rams from 1971-84, who gave them their Super Bowl LIII hats.
On Monday, the Rams will take part in “Super Bowl Opening Night” at State Farm Arena, which historically has meant players having to answer unconventional questions from individuals representing non-mainstream organizations.
Earlier Sunday, the Rams hosted a rally for fans at the site of the team's under-construction stadium in Inglewood.
Hundreds of people showed up to cheer on the team at LA Stadium at Hollywood Park, where the Rams and Chargers will begin playing in 2020.
The brief rally began shortly after 10 a.m., with Rams coach Sean McVay and players including All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald, kicker Greg Zuerlein and punter Johnny Hekker briefly taking turns at the microphone, exhorting the crowd with the familiar “Whose House?” “Rams House!” chant.
The rally also included giveaways, food trucks, merchandise sales and a performance by the Rams cheerleaders.
