Woman Arrested at End of High Speed Chase

SAN GABRIEL (CNS) - A woman who led authorities on a high speed chase from San Gabriel to Newbury Park in Ventura County was taken into custody this morning.

Police in San Gabriel attempted to stop her about 4 a.m., but she drove off and the California Highway Patrol began its pursuit about 4:15 a.m., according to CHP Officer Tony Polizzi. She was wanted for failure to yield.

The woman driving a black Infiniti sped northbound on the Ventura (101) Freeway at speeds above 100 mph through the San Fernando Valley and into Ventura County before she stopped near Newbury Park and surrendered.

A woman who was a passenger in the vehicle got out of the car after the driver was taken into custody, ABC7 said.

No injuries were reported.
