Airline Workers Are Warning That Shutdown Could Cause Big Risks

If you're planning to take a flight soon, you may want to leave a bit earlier.

According to a statement by the unions that represent some airline workers, the public could be at risk.

"We cannot even calculate the level of risk currently at play, nor predict the point at which the entire system will break...growing concern for the safety and security of our members, our airlines, and the traveling public due to the government shutdown".

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association notes that staffing shortages have caused employees to pick up extra shifts and work overtime to cover.

Meanwhile, the TSA admits that unscheduled absences have reached double the number from the same time last year.
