Three Arrested After High-Speed Chase On 60 Freeway

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Authorities chased a car from San Bernardino County to El Monte today, where the vehicle was disabled on a freeway off-ramp and three possible burglary suspects were taken into custody.

The high-speed chase -- which involved personnel from the Chino Hills Police Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department -- ended shortly before 11 a.m on the Peck Road/Durfee Avenue off-ramp from the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The car was side-swiped by a box truck on the off-ramp when the suspect tried to pass the larger vehicle on the right side. The outer portion of the car's driver's side door was ripped off of the vehicle, which was pinned against the right guardrail.

The male driver was taken into custody, as were a male and female passenger. All three climbed out of the car through the driver's side window while authorities held them at gunpoint.
