HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - Soil movement near a home under construction in the Hollywood Hills today prompted the evacuation of several workers from the site as well as some neighborhood residences.
Firefighters went to the 1800 block of North Stanley Avenue about 9:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“A visible, unknown amount of soil has moved from beneath a large hillside home under construction,” said Brian Humphrey of the LAFD. “Though the situation is described as static -- and Department of Building and Safety (personnel are) en route, a precautionary local evacuation is underway.”
No injuries have been reported.
Some residences also were affected on Nichols Canyon Road north of Courtney Avenue.
