Police Responding To Active Shooter At UPS Facility In New Jersey

UPDATE: The suspected gunman who was holding two women hostage inside of a UPS facility has been shot by police. The man, who was known to local police, was taken to the hospital while the women he took hostage suffered minor injuries.

Police in New Jersey are responding to reports of an active shooter at a UPS facility in Logan Township. According to NBC News, the suspect walked in and fired into the ceiling. He is holding two people hostage, including his ex-girlfriend. 

UPS issued a statement saying they are working with law enforcement but are unable to release more details about the people involved. 

"UPS is working with law enforcement as they respond to an active shooter situation at one of the company's supply chain processing facilities in Logan Township, New Jersey. We cannot provide information about the identity of people involved at this time."

There is a massive police presence outside the facility but there are no reports of injuries at this time

Schools in the area are on lockdown while police investigate.
