A California man has been arrested for allegedly trying to steal his roommate's lottery ticket - which turned out to be worth $10 million dollars.
Police say the victim bought a $30 scratcher that he thought was a $10,000 winner - but when he turned it in, they told him the ticket had been altered and wasn't a winner.
The next day, the man's roommate tried to turn in the ticket - only to be told it was worth $10 million, not $10,000.
Unfortunately for the roommate, the ticket had already been reported as stolen.
When he was invited to the lottery office to "collect his winnings", he was instead arrested by police.
