Apparently in Saudi Arabia, if a man wanted to divorce his wife, he could just walk away without telling her.
But in an effort to curb the practice, the nation has come up with a new way of breaking the news.
Women will now be informed via text message of the change in their marital status, along with the certificate number and where to pick it up the divorce documents.
The country's Ministry of Justice claims it's "a step aimed at protecting the rights of female clients, and enhancing digital transformation with more services."
As part of their Vision 2030 reforms, Saudi Arabia is bestowing new rights on women, including letting them drive and enter sports stadiums for the first time.
