Police Seize Drugs, Cash Worth Nearly $20 Million in Downtown L.A.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Investigators shut down a marijuana-processing operation in downtown Los Angeles and seized nearly $20 million worth of cannabis and cash as well as firearms, police said today.

The bust was made Monday in the 800 block of San Julian Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Daniel Ontiveros, 24, and three other men were arrested at the location, where investigators seized marijuana, concentrated cannabis oil, guns -- including an AR15 rifle -- and about $150,000 in cash, Lt. Andrew Mathes told reporters at an afternoon news conference at the LAPD's Central Station.

The operation came under police scrutiny after a tip from the public, Mathes said.

Ontiveros was released from custody on Tuesday morning after posting $30,000 bail, according to sheriff's inmate records.
