CHP's Christmas Weekend Crackdown Begins Tonight

RIVERSIDE (CNS) - California Highway Patrol officers will deploy in strength tonight for the start of the agency's Christmastime crackdown on drunken and drug-impaired drivers.

The “maximum enforcement period” will get underway at 6 p.m. and continue until 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.

During this time, all available officers will be deployed on patrol assignments.

“The California Highway Patrol wishes everyone a happy and, most importantly, safe holiday season,” CHP Commissioner Warren Stanley said.

“Please remember to drive sober, avoid distractions, always buckle up, leave plenty of time to reach your destination, and consider the possibility of inclement weather,” Stanley said.

“If you see an impaired driver, call 911 when you can do so safely,” Stanley said.
