Funding for the border wall is at an impasse in Congress, so one veteran has decided to raise the money himself, launching a GoFundMe page that has taken in over $3.5 million.
Brian Kolfage, who lost three limbs in 2004 while fighting in Iraq, has verified himself as the creator of the campaign, which has over 53,000 backers as of Thursday morning.
"We The People Will Fund The Wall" hopes to total $1 billion, saying, "It's up to Americans to help out and pitch in to get this project rolling."
According to Kolfage, all of the money raised will go toward the wall, claiming that he has "very high level contacts" at the White House helping with the fundraiser.
