A mother in New York City was caught on camera Tuesday morning after a man attempted to steal her SUV...
"Not today, he didn't win today," said Tihisha Jones. "I won today, I'm the hero today."
According to WPIX, it all happened in the Bronx when Jones started her car and left it heating up before driving. Jones uses a walker due to her heart issues, so she turned on the car via remote from her home.
When she walked out to her car, Jones told reporters that her and her 7-year-old son found a man already sitting inside, attempting to steal the car and their belongings inside.
"I didn't give him a chance to do anything, I just grabbed him," she said. "He did try to get away, but that's when I sat down on him."
Jones told police she immediately opened up the car doors, and literally dragged the man out of her car.
A woman nearby happened to see the incident happening, and pulled out her cellphone to record this video:
Police eventually arrived and arrested 19-year-old Bernadino Santiago, who they said appeared to be intoxicated. He faces charges of grand larceny, petty larceny, and criminal possession of stolen goods.
"I really do depend on this car," Jones told WPIX. "That was my hard-earned coins, I'm a single parent."
