LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 52nd consecutive day, decreasing 1.4 cents to $3.423.
The average price has dropped 45.4 cents over the past 52 days, including 1.2 cents on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 7.8 cents less than one week ago and 28.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 29.1 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 27.3 cents since the start of the year.
The streak of decreases is the longest since a 92-day run from Oct. 2, 2014-Jan. 1, 2015.
The Orange County average price dropped today for the 23rd consecutive day and 50th time in the past 51 days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.369. It has dropped 45.4 cents over the past 51 days, including 1 cent on Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 7.3 cents less than one week ago and 28.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 29.2 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 25.3 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
