Proposition 6, the gas tax repeal initiative, failed in this year's November election. The 12 and a half cent gas tax increase will stay.
However Reform California, the sponsor of the repeal, saw the change in language on the voter's ballot as an "assault on the initiative process." The ballot title's wording no doubt mislead many voters and had them voting NO on something they were confused about.
The Proposition 6 ballot title should’ve said “Repeal the gas tax”, when instead the attorney general changed it to say “eliminates funding for road repairs”.
Carl DeMaio talked to KUSI News in San Diego about the misleading words and joined the show to tell us more about State Attorney General Xavier Becerra's continued pattern of deception.
