AZUSA (CNS) - A vehicle crashed over the side of a road near the San Gabriel Reservoir this afternoon, sparking a fire that quickly scorched two acres of brush. The condition of the driver and anyone else who may have been in the vehicle was not immediately available.
The crash was reported about 5:20 p.m. near mile marker 23 of San Gabriel Canyon Road in Angeles National Forest about five miles outside the Azusa city limits, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which responded to the location.
The vehicle was reported to have gone 100 feet over the side of the road, a county fire department dispatcher said.The road was closed at mile marker 18, the sheriff's department reported.
